VMA 2.15 : I will do violence to anyone who tries to remove me from Vrindavan

Celebrating Lokanath Goswami's disappearance at his samadhi on the Gokulananda temple grounds. vṛndāraṇyaṁ tyajeti pravadati yadi ko'py asya jihvāṁ chinadmi śrīmad-vṛndāvanān māṁ yadi nayati balāt ko'pi taṁ hanmy avaśyam| kāmaṁ veśyām upeyāṁ na khalu pariṇayāyānyato yāmi kāmaṁ caurye kuryāṁ dhanārthaṁ na tu calati padaṁ hanta vṛndāvanān me || Should someone advise me, "Leave Vrindavan," I will cut out his tongue. If someone tries to drag me from Vrindavan by force, I will most surely kill him.  I would fain marry a prostitute, but will not go to wed someone elsewhere. If I need to steal to earn my livelihood, I will do so, but I will not take a single step out of Vrindavan. Comment Here Prabodhananda Saraswatipada makes one of his more outrageous statements ( prauḍhokti ), deliberately provoking the mentality of the materialistic moralists. Killing for Krishna: The Danger of Deranged Devotion by Henry Doktorski III. 660 pages, soft cover, 9 x 6 x 1.5 inches, 2.5 lbs . PO Box 893343, Temecula CA 92589. (Facebook) Kirtanananda Swami's as yet unfinished samadhi on the Parikrama Marg in Panigaon (Vrindavan, 2018) In November 1973, I was living in Dallas while Dayananda Das Adhikary was temple president. During that time, the Bal Yogi “Guru Maharaj Ji,” was the current rage, attracting disciples at a rate that made ISKCON’s growth look tepid. A big convocation had been arranged at the Houston Astrodome for his followers, and the ISKCON temples from Texas and beyond sent numerous book distributors to the location in the hope of selling Prabhupada literature. One of our Dallas Gurukul teachers had heard a statement of Srila Prabhupada about Guru Maharajji, in all likelihood “The so-called, pseudo guru, false guru, he should be killed.” ( London, August 5, 1973 ) He made the big mistake of getting into an argument wi...

The Implications of Our Gurus' Moral Failings

Now that I have done the easy part—explaining why, from an impartial examination of the evidence, I have doubts about the authenticity of three texts published by Bhaktivinode Thakur—I am left with the more difficult task of responding to the fallout that has come from making such a statement. Once again, I must begin by apologizing for entering such a delicate subject matter as the apparent failings of a guru, but I think that it is something that merits honest discussion. I would ask that those who have reservations about me personally first read my “personal preamble”, even though I realize the prejudices that certain quarters hold against me are unshakeable. As one devotee wrote to me some time ago, [Our disagreement] is neither a matter of argument or narrowmindedness, but one of love and trust. We simply love and trust our guru varga and have distrust and not much love for you since you have rejected them. Krishna chose to reside with Vidura rather than stay in Sisupala's...
