FB Memories April 24
I thank God that entering Vrindavan is so arduous.
Arduously pleasurable at every step.
I thank God that Radha and Krishna's sweetness is infinite,
and that it will take an infinity of lifetimes to relish it,
but that even then I will still not be filled.
And I thank God for Srila Rupa Goswami's insight
into the Divine Couple. Jai Sri Radhe!
May everyone see the sweet presence
of Radha and Krishna in all phenomena,
in separation and union, relishing the rasa.
in separation and union, relishing the rasa.

[So much trouble getting VT off the ground. So much trouble with Alexander who really did everything he could to destroy it. And Jagannath kept it alive, but it really needs more good writers and reporters to fulfill its destiny. The vloggers are taking over, doing a lot of the stuff that I thought would be good for us to develop towards. Like this one I saw today: Interview with Hema Malini. Soon noone will write anything at all except what is machine transcribed.]
Radhe Radhe! It looks like Vrindavan Today will be getting resurrected.
Originally I was hoping that VT would be a "go to" site for real solid information about Braj environmental and other public interest issues, as well as a window into Braj-Vrindavan culture. It looks like this can still happen.
VT still has great potential, but it needs help. Financial, journalistic, editorialists, translation in English and Hindi, and media/internet savvy advice -- volunteers are most welcome.
This is a great non-sectarian project that all Braj-Vrindavan lovers should support. Jai Sri Radhe!

Today is election day in Vrindavan. Things are quiet. The ads in the newspapers indicate that the BJP has the most money. Hemamalini is on the front page with a full page add. Modi himself on another full page inside. Rahul Gandhi and Jayant Chowdhury, who are in a coalition effort of Congress and Rolad, have a half page and a quarter page. SP has only one quarter page, and Mayavati is absent altogether, as far as I can tell. No other players in Vrindavan.
[I don't have the luxury of answering questions about Indian politics, but I am seeing Modi being spoken of in one breath with Putin and Orban and Bolsonaro, which I protest vehemently. I watched a video yesterday (Jaipur Dialogues: Ambassador Deepak Vohra on India in 2015) which was an exercise in nationalism. I am an Indian nationalist because I believe that like he says you have to build confidence in your own identity, who you are. For better or worse you cannot spend eternity putting the West on a pedestal. American and European advantages stem to a great extent from their geography, but India has other kinds of advantages, the root of which is Sanatan Dharma.
In a private message someone called Modi a murderer to me and said to go back to Gandhi and to forget the history with Islam. That is all very easy to say if Indian history with Islam did not persistently repeat itself. There is no going back to Gandhi and appeasement of Islam any more.
Yogi just won a resounding election in Uttar Pradesh and Modi is almost a sure thing to stay in power for as long as he wants. Jaishankar the foreign minister is standing tall on the international stage and I hope that India will go on in this direction.]
