I don't like going in front of people and contradicting their dearly held beliefs. But I am already wary of the reliability of history, even though it is a fascinating area to study. Mostly Indian history is very hard to piece together, and GV history is no different. When you have contradictory information from different sources, and the relative reliability of the witnesses is not known, one has to be somewhat intuitive in approach. And that of course is always subject to biases, and I don't deny that I have mine.Jagadananda Dashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05887720845815026518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31351038.post-24383641695717339382015-08-24T12:10:57.974-04:002015-08-24T12:10:57.974-04:00What a an excellent and well-balanced series. Seems to me that if one understands the roots of his religious tradition, one can better appreciate the framework within which he is receiving teachings. I might suggest the teachings are like a painting, while tradition/sampradaya is the frame. The latter is necessary to keep the teacings alive, but the former remains the essential.Prem Prakashnoreply@blogger.com
